I went with a friend for lunch today. She got yelled at by the owner for picking up a bag of chips. Suggestion: make your 'do not touch' sign LARGE or keep the food in the back. He was getting belligerently loud each time he repeated himself, which was at least 6 times. He then had the audacity to ask her to apologize for picking up a bag of chips because she could have run out the door with the bag (sorry, didn't realize the establishment is on the dodgy side of town). If infection control is an issue - you shouldn't have an open bag of chips right under the customers nose! Don't have it in an easily accessible location and then smack the customer with rudeness. My friend was going through chemo and this was her first outing after a long time. Don't know why the owner had to be a jerk about it; he could have been so much professional and dealt with this as a gentlemen instead of yelling at two ladies and a visibly upset baby. I will never go to Duft & Co again.
Wow! I realize that I usually only write reviews when I'm impressed but I truly have not had a pizza like this in a long time. The crust, the obviously fresh sauce, not cooking the basil in the oven on my Margharita, Brickhouse really checked all the boxes for my criteria for a great pie. That cauliflower is unreal too, loaded with a ton of flavour that i found really unique, I'd recommend it even if you aren't a cauliflower fan. The cooks must really know they're stuff back there, if you're kind of a foodie and you still haven't been here you'd better check it out stat. Also the beers on tap were tasty, even if the selection was a little narrow. I've been avoiding buying pizza from anywhere else in town ever since eating here because it was so good. Know that it closes early at 7 o'clock for some reason though, or you'll end up disappointed and hungry!
My husband and I had two sandwiches here and split them with each other. The sandwiches were amazing! We will be back to try the amazing looking and smelling pizza! The atmosphere was awesome and the staff were very kind.
Great food, great atmosphere and you can taste the quality ingredients. Whish I worked closer by, so that I could eat here more often. Best lunch in Abbotsford.
*Updated below. Great owners!First time in due to their limited hours and minimal seating. Sadly I don't think I will be back anytime soon. We arrived just before noon and there were a few tables available, however while we waited to order people who arrived after us occupied all of the remaining tables and then proceeded to order. I realize that with such limited seating there can be issues but there has to be a better way. We ended up changing our order to take out. Had a soup and sandwich. Sandwich was very good, soup was okay.Another issue not unique to the Brickhouse is tipping when you pay before you have had any service or any food. Makes it impossible to tip appropriately. Final point would be that the staff seemed disinterested and were not helpful at all. There are better options in town in my opinion.***Updated rating to relfect the amazing response of the owner to my concerns. Looking forward to a return visit!
