Lou's Grill has changed. Some for the good, some not so good. The new building is great. Better layout, nice atmosphere. The service however needs big improvement. Out of a table of 8 people 2 had to wait for their food and when it arrived one of the meals was wrong. Personally the Caesar salad dressing wasn't very good. I think I'll wait a little longer before going back. Maybe then the servers will have their act together.
Lou's new building is great. The service is either good or it can be non existent. The food used to be awesome before the fire, and now it seems the kitchen staff have lost their passion. For instance, my wings had 2 pieces that should've been trashed and never plated. The calamari was overcooked, dry and hard, whereas before they were soft and tender. They normally come out with a lemon, but I received a lime. The nachos were overcooked, with the toppings just tossed on like there was no care. There needs to be more care and attention, as well as a higher level of quality control regarding food that goes out from the kitchen. That being said, the drinks are always awesome at Lou's.
It's great that this place has finally reopened. I love the layout ,menu, service and atmosphere. The one thing that will have us thinking twice about going back is the high noise factor. We were a party of 4 and constantly had to ask each other to repeat ourselves. I hope they can remedy this in a hurry. We're not the only ones frustrated with this factor. Cheers guys!
Two stars only because they allow smoking on the dining patio. Both the appetizer and the main were served at the same time. Food portion sizes are larger than average. Staff are friendly and polite. Calamari was flavorful but slightly over cooked. Beef dip had a generous portion of shaved beef. Major turn off with smokers in the dining area.
Still has the feeling of the old Lous of my youth! Just much more room!!! Love the interior decorating and the atmosphere. Food was great too! I did get offered the wrong food about 3 different times by the same girl, so I think maybe they need some better organization for their servers but that was my only criticism. So happy Lous is back!!
