Big lot for big trucks. Not crazy busy
Kid running the counter was extremely disrespectful. Very annoyed and unhappy with the level of service I received.
They should not allow you to use the "Soft Touch" car wash, as it is not adjusted properly, or perhaps needs maintenance to keep pieces of the roller brush from tangling with wipers.I normally hand wash my F150 pickup, but it needed the underspray, as I had been on some pretty dusty roads, and I also chose the "Soft Touch" option, as there were bugs on my truck from many miles of driving.DO NOT USE THE "SOFT TOUCH" OPTION AT THIS LOCATION!A strand of the brush caught in my wiper and bent the wiper in half as well as lifting it off the windshield and twisting it. When I went inside, the clerk says to the manager "what is it with our car wash and wipers?" - so it's pretty obvious it has done this before - but even so, they did not offer anything other than saying "see what ICBC (insurance company) will do about it", because "there's a sign saying we aren't liable". At the very least they could have offered a free car wash (touchless, this time!) WITHOUT me having to ask for it.Honestly, people, where has that old thing called "customer service" disappeared to? Just a tiny bit of effort and even the smallest hint of compassion for someone's misfortune, and you might have had a happy customer, even though something went wrong. Instead, you now have a very disgruntled person (and no, it is NOT worth the time to go through ICBC for a $20 wiper), and MANY. MANY people will hear about this incident. For the cost of a free car wash OFFERED RIGHT AWAY, or maybe a replacement wiper blade, you could have had a happy customer who would tell others about your great service, but you chose the lazy, cheap way out, and it WILL cost you more in the long run due to lost business.I am totally open to removing this review IF I have full assurance and proof that the "Soft Touch" car wash option at the Whatcom Road Chevron has been adjusted in an attempt to stop further damage OR it has been discontinued altogether. I also believe that the staff at this location should be trained to give better customer service and they should also be given the ability to offer something such as free washes or wipers if incidents like this continue to occur. Remember that the offer of an item or service must be done in a sincere manner, and it must be done BEFORE it is asked for, or it will not have the same effect.Just to be clear, I DID point out that my truck was not cleaned very well by the car wash, and because of that - not the broken wiper - they gave me a free car wash. Unfortunately, I wasn't about to go back through the car wash without my wiper attached properly, as that could create even bigger problems, even with a "touchless" wash. So, my truck is still pretty dirty, I have a broken wiper blade, and I'm pretty annoyed with the lack of customer service at this location! I also hope that other people do not have the same trouble with the car wash or the people here.
Third time the card reader has failed. This time it wouldn't release my card until an apparently mute attendant yanked it out. Update: contacted by ownership which was a nice surprise, they were transitioning to a new system. Hopefully all is well.
Something was wrong in the car wash, as it was asking me to back up then drive forward. I come here frequently to do my car wash, so it's not like I don't know how to. I called them and they said they'll send someone out. Meanwhile I kept on trying to drive forward and back up. One of the customers in line went inside and they went to me and told me to drive forward and back up, which I have been doing over and over again. I called again since no one came out to help. She said the same thing to just keep driving forward until it told me to stop. Which again what I have been doing already. No one was planning to really help out from Chevron. So Urged her to ask again, this time I asked to be put on hold. She must have helped 4-5 customers just to tell me that the car wash is valid for 30 days and they don't know what to do. Another driver went in and asked me to drive forward and back up!!! I drove forward regardless of the sign to back up and bam! It said Stop and the car wash started. I must have done it at least 20 times. Although the car wash was frustrating, Chevron on the other hand, could at least try to exercise customer service. If it didn't work by luck, I wouldn't know how to get out of that car wash since the gate was shut. Don't know what they need better, customer service or common sense.
